Inasa is a 333-meter-high mountain with a panoramic view of Nagasaki City from the observatory at the summit.
It is one of the three most famous nightscapes in Japan, along with Mount Hakodate in Hakodate and Mount Maya in Kobe.
Along with Monaco and Hong Kong, it has been recognized as one of the world’s top three nightscapes.
The night view from Mt. Inasa is called the “10 million dollar night view.
The summit of Mt. Inasa itself is also a night view spot, and the radio tower is illuminated at night.
Ropeway
Inasa, the Nagasaki Ropeway takes visitors directly to the top of the mountain.
The ropeway runs 1,110 meters from Fuchi Jinja Station at the foot of the mountain to Inasadake Station at the summit.
Inasayama Park
Inasayama Park is located on a large site at the 8th station of the mountain. Inasayama Outdoor Music Hall, a playground with a slide and a fountain, a free zoo with monkeys and deer, and a free parking lot that can accommodate approximately 400 vehicles.
Slope Car
The Nagasaki Inasa Slope Car takes visitors from the parking lot in the middle of the mountain where Inasa Park is located to the observation deck at the top of the mountain. The car was designed by Kiyoyuki Okuyama, an industrial designer who has worked on luxury cars such as the Ferrari, and is designed to keep the car level even when the gradient changes.
Mountain Trails
There are several well-maintained trails that allow visitors to walk up the mountain in a natural setting.
The soil near the trails is poor due to the pyroclastic rock geology, and plants that cannot be found in other areas, such as the Japanese knotweed, grow in the area.
